HOW TO DEVELOP A PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING IN AN "ICT" ENABLED WORLD

HOW TO DEVELOP A PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY OF TEACHING IN AN "ICT" ENABLED WORLDTechnology of instruction can make an ordinary person capable of superior perfomance and a means, either printed or electronic to distribute that instruction. Information and communication technologies(ICT) are entering the class-room in a great way. Accordingly the entire process of teaching learning are going to be over handled. This rises a number of philosophical as well as methodological issues. What will be the nature of inquiry in an ICT enabled educational scenario? Because of this comprehensive change it become familiar with and be comfortable with these new technologies. This study is an attempt to empower student teachers in this new era of teaching and learning.

The scope of philosophy of education is concerned with the problems of education. These problems are general in nature, the interpretation of nature, the world and universe, explanations of aims and ideals. The chief philosophy everywhere is critical evaluation as well as construction.

The ICT tools such as internet, world wide web, e-mail, web logs, social networks, free sotwares, wikipedias etc should be familiar to the teachers which will be helpful and enhances the methode of teaching. And also the teachers should understand the ICT enabled teaching practices in high schools, collages etc.

ICT tools helps the teacher to teach the difficult topic and also to understand the abstract topic to the students. Merely understanding or hearing about any topic is easily to forget, but the teaching of the topic with the help of ICT tools enable the students to digest easily.

Now a days education becomes continuous process and need more care and guidance. So each teacher should have their own sound philosophy. Philosophy should be in thier practice not in words. Philosophy indicates the personality and also the views of the teacher or the concerned person.
According to my openion teaching is not merely a knowledge giving process. In traditional method techer gives only the subject knowledge to the students. Beyond that the students will not get any extra knowledge of the concerned subject or topic. So a teacher should know about the current status of our society, changes that happens in the world especially in the regarding topic. These informationsgood teacher. And also a teacher should allow the students to express and share their feelings, ideas and opinions.

A student spent more time in their school with his/her teacher rather that with their mother
. The charecter building stage of students are in their schooling period. So a teacher with sound philosophy can direct the behaviour of the students to desired direction. He/she can develop moral values and can made them into a good citizen. A techer should know the philosophy of different philosophers and make their own philosophy by taking good values from that. These value should be shared with students by not just saying but showing with it's needs. The teacher should teach moral values to students through his life. A teacher can influence his/her students greatly to the students while teaching. The teacher should be a role model for the students. She can direct and guide the students to the desired goal.

A teacher should be an architect who should mould her students to the desired shape. Thus a teacher should be a role model for her students. Behind every success men there is a influencing teacher who guided and motivated him at a great extent.

Teaching is an opportunity to inspire and empower the young generation. A teacher should able to develop a good personality in the students. They must be good problem solvers. Education will change according to the changing needs of the society. The world is moving in a tremendous way. A teacher should provide complete freedom for children in the class-room to express thier feelings, ideas, opinion, emotion etc. A teacher should consider the feelings of hre pupil and also the needs too. Teacher should be the second mother for the students by guiding he/she throughout thier lives.

The new digital ICT's are not single technologies but the combination of hardwares, softwares, media and delivery system. Understand the legal, ethical, health and safety implications of using ICT and their responsibilities as users and developers. Thus in this ICT enabled world, the place of ICT is almost importance. The use of ICT will help both the students and teachers in teaching learning process. It is an attempt to empower the student teachers in the new era of teaching learning process.

GLACIER MELTING AND IT'S EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

GLACIER MELTING AND IT'S EFFECT ON THE ENVIRONMENT

A glacier can be described as a huge block of ice
that has formed from falling snow.Glaciers contain almost all of the fresh water present on earth. Glaciers are formed in places where are the temparatures
are extreamly cold. This could even include places that are at sea level, but are mostly places that are high up on mountains.              In such cold places it shows most of the year. This snow will settle down and when it snows again the lower layer of the snow gets compressed
. Every time it snows, the below layer will compress more, finally turning into hard ice. This ice is what form the glacier.             When temparature rises slightly, the outer edges of the formed glacier and fresh snow will melt. For a glacier to form and sustain itself it is of prime importance that the amount of snow that falls on it must be more than the amount of glacier that has melted. This is the only way in which the glacier will be able to maintain itself and keep increasing in size year after yearincreasing .
www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19095069
This project will make you aware of:
rate of glacier melting.
reasons for the glacier melting.
dangers of glacier melting.
understand the impacts of glacier melting on environment.
GLACIERS ARE MELTING FASTER TODAY
It ha sbeen noticed that glaciers were melting more than normal over the past century. It was argued in the past that this was a normal process that takes place over time, but this is now wrong. Many glaciers have melted so fast over the past few decades that they have vanished from the face of the earth for ever. Many glaciers that remain are, today facing the same fate. They are reducing in size year after year because the falling snow is not able to replace the amount of melting ice.

UNESCO: global warming links

WHY ARE GLACIERS MELTING FASTER TODAY
Glaciers are melting faster today as compared to the past many centuries. Why this sudden change? Almost every one believe that the prime reason for this is sudden and rapid industrialization which inturn has caused global warming
- the prime culprit of fast melting glaciers.                 Global warming is the rise average global temparature that has happend over the past century. "the industrial revolution"
is the main cause of this rise in average temparature. The indicriminate burning of fossil fuel have resulted in extreame atmospheric pollution leading to this condition. Coal is still burnt in huge quantities for various reasons such as electricity production. Burning of oil is major reason in the past century. Deforestation has increased to procure wood and make more space available for farming, resulting in an increase of Co2 concentrations. All these pollutants helps in trapping more heat in the earth's atmosphere, increasing global temparature.               It is due to this temparature that glaciers are melting more than they actually should. When a glacier melts fully, it exposes the earth below.Glaciers absorb approximately 20%
heat from the sun, reflecting back 80% when the earth gets exposed this percentage get reversed . This iin turn causes further increase in temparature. This is a vicious trap which has already began and it will be almost impossible for us to stop it totally.               In the future the global temparature will in all likelyhood keep increasing ,melting glaciers even faster than they are today.

DANGERS OF FAST MELTING GLACIER
Faster than normal melting glaciers will cause the streams and rivers to overflow causing flood. This is a reality that many places have and are currently facing. Those living in close proximity to these rivers will need to relocate. Farmlands get destroyed in these flood waters. Higher up on mountains this excess water creates new ponds . As these ponds keep getting filled with more water they form lakes with the pressure on the boundaries increasing. There is always a threat of these lakes bursting, causing huge floods in villages situated below.
Once the glacier had totally melted, the srteams and rivers run dry.Farm land will turn dry. Those depending on the fresh water from the melting glacier will have to relocate.
Places that depend on the constant flow of this water for the production of electricity will have to look for the other sources to produce elecricity. This will cause further atmospheric pollution and cost much more than to produce.
Sea level that has already risen
due to glacier melting, warmer water water will rise even further melting which empty the water into the sea.At immediate risk will be to those living in low lying areas in close viscinity to sea shores. These areas will get flooded and sweet ground water will get pollute dwith sea water, making it unfit for human use.                Many animals, birds and fish that depend on the fresh water from melting glacier empty directly into the increasing sea level. Fish feeding on the corals will inturn get affected. Animals and birds feeding on these fish will be affected.
There are many more dangers that could cop up due to the fast melting glaciers in the coming years if we do not do something to reduce the menace of global warming
immediately. Each one of us can play a part in helping to reduce harmful emission leading to a possible reduction in future global warming.
IMPACTS OF MELTING GLACIER
Glacierrs melting have a negative impact on all those who depend on it.Communities that live along rivers fed by melting glaciers face the constant threat of being dislodged from their dwelling place to possible flooding.
Many rivers are overflowing today, but very soon there will be no glacial melt to feed them, causing them to dry up and spread draught all over.
Lakes formed by melting glacier water will grow in size and always pose a threat of bursting. If this happens the impact could be very devastating for all those living in close viscinity. Entire villagers could be destroyed including farming lands, roads, rail bridges etc. Precious human life could be lost.

If the current trend of more glacial ice melting continues, there will soon come a time when these glaciers will not exist.Resulting the hydrpower station
to shut down. Other sources for producing electricity will need to put into place, causing pollution and helping the causing global warming. All farmland that depends on melting glacial water will dry up, leading to a shortage of food grains.
Pangnirtung, a village on Canada's Baffin Island, had rain and temperatures in the 40s last month,
 when minus-20 degrees is normal.
The impact of fast melting glaciers will also be felt in the sea. Sea levels have already risen in the past century due to an increase water temparature caused by global warming
. The water will rise further when more fresh water is added to it. Entire communities living in low lying areas near the shore will be at threat from the increasing sea water level. Fresh underground water in these areas will get polluted with salty sea water making it unfit for drinking and irrigation.                  Rise in sea levels
may kill or stunt the growth of many coral reefs. Coral reefs depends on photosynthesis from the sun for survival. When water level increases, the amount of sunlight will reduce, making it difficult for coral reefs to survive. Many animals, birds and fish that depends on fresh melting water from glaciers for survival will either reduce in number or get extinc
t over a period of time. This will happen where glaciers melt directly into the sea.                   DDT
was the pesticide that is used widely and was banned worldwide many years ago. Most of this harmful chemical got air born and settled in the cooler climate and were embedded and trapped into layers of glaciers. With glaciers melting at the rate they are today; these chemicals are being introduced into the water melting from glaciers, contaminating stremes and rivers as they flow. This will have a negative effect on the health of all those who depend on this water for drinking and agriculture. Many glaciers world wide have already vanished. The melting glaciers only help to increase in the gobal temparature. Ice reflects most of the heat from the sun back into space, but when the land get exposed it absorbs most of the heat.

SUGGESTION
Increasing temparature
is the main reason for glacier melting because of industrialization. So control the use of fuels, coals, oils etc.Afforestation to check the global warming.
FINDINGS
From the text book and internet analysis I came to know that the rate of glacier melting is increasing year after year. The main reason for the glacier melting is global warming. There are dangers in glacier melting such as overflow of rivers, streams, flood, destroyal of farm land, rising of sea level etc.

CONCLUSION
The process of glacier melting is normal
; but the rate at which the glaciers are melting today is abnormal. Snow is not able replace the melting ice; causing many glacier to become non existent. The impact of this trend are negative to human, animals, plants, birds and fishes that depend on fresh water from these melting glacier.

Sand mining and it's impact on the availability of ground water

mohammedshareefkt@gmail.comhttp://zeenathasis000.blogspot.in
SANDMINING AND IT'S IMPACT ON THE AVAILABILITY OF GROUND WATER
INTRODUCTION
Sand is formedby the wheathering of rocks, which takes a lot of years to come into reality.Sand mining results in climatic changes in the environment. Even greate disasters like Tsunami
will happen due to the sandmining. Sand mining will result in death of rivers.Illegal sand mining should be prohibited;otherwise it will destroy our beatiful natureThus this scarce resourse should be protected, protected by human race for a better future and better living. Sandmining is a practice that is becoming an ecological problem
as the demand of sand increases in industry. Sand is mined from beaches, inland dunes and dreadged from ocean beds and river beds. It is often used in manufacturing. As communities grow; construction requires less wood and more concrete, leading to a demand for low coast. Sand is also used to replace eroded coast line. Sandmining is a direct and obvious cause of erosion, and also impacts the local wild life.STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM"Sandmining and it's impact on the availability of the water"
NEED AND SIGNIFICANCESandmining in the river basin, coastal areas, and hilly region in Kerala has posed serious threats to ecology and social life. Due to mining the river bed is escaped to sunlight leading to dry conditions, hence water availability has fallen down and the available water turns into saline. This inturn affecting the livelyhood of fisher folk. Sandmining affects irrigation and water supply also. The ecology of lotic habitat is altered due to sandmining.
The miners with their money power and muscle power and money power, and also by political influence can mine in their liscences. Because of their selfish attitudethey can dig into several meters of deapth; removing 4-6 times of permitted quota.
OBJECTIVES1. To know more about sandmining.
2. To undestand the impact of sand mining in environment.
3. To know how sandmining affects the availability of water.
METHODOLOGYI have collected the data both primarily and secondarily
. Primary data is mainly by visiting those places which were seriously under the threat of sandmining. Also the water level of the same was decreasing year after year. Another river basin which I have Visited was the river Parali(Palakkad) which is more or less 15 km away from Palakkad. I t is also under the threat of sandmining. Secondary datas are mainly from text books of Environmental Education, Library books, internet, paper cut outs, News papers, Medias(visual) and also from a documentary on television.
ANALYSISThe single factor that has contributed mostly to the river ecology in Kerala is the excessive sandmining from rivers. The sand is mined for building, constructions, fillings, pavings, and reclamation of wet lands. The construction boom that started in the Kerala on 1980's together with population growth had lead to the over-exploitation of sand resources of the rivers of Kerala. Today sandmining is done in all the major and medium rivers to the extent that more than 3000 truck loads of sand are lifted daily. This will reduce the capacity of river in recharging ground water. For eg; the second largest river in Kerala "Bharathappuzha
" often called the 'life line' of Kerala state had turn ugly and water less for almost of the year, because of man's greed. Despite of high court orders that only the annual incriment of sand can be taken, sand is taken away in lorries every day from all other major rivers, abkari revenue but has attracted all kinds of criminals, social undesirables, and all others to complete the greed. The mafia is ravaging the most of the rivers, making mockery of the states social and judicial machinary. They with the backing of social politicians and police had conquered the rivers with their money and muscle power, thus plundering her by quarrying thousands tonnes of sand from the river bed day by day . They unleash terror against those who oppose the illegal activity.
Number of side effects are there on sandmining; they are:1. Removal of sand had resulted in lowering or sinking of river beds and formation of pits on either side of which have become virtual death traps in many rivers. Solid wastes and silts may get deposited in these pits causing water contamination, algal bloom and bacterial growth.2. The lowering of the bed level and reduced flow from upstream cause reverse flow from the sea at high tide carrying all the chemical and biological pollutants upto or even above the main waterr supply pumbing situation.3. The lowering of water table encourages the intrusion of saline water into fresh water causing serious threats to drinking and irrigation.4. The sand holds the water and fills the nearby ponds and takes by rising the water table. When sand is removed from the river bed, the hydraulic gradient increases dangerously. It has also affected the availability of water in the wells and canals on the sides of the river.5. The sand lifting done without any official supervision has encouraged the villagers to encroach upon the river bed. The river beds and banks of many rivers have already been taken over by the local villagers.6. Indiscriminate sandmining has weakened many bridges, buildings, water tanks and other civil constructions.7. The riverine morphology gets changed and water equilibrium upset causing serious threats to the biodiversity of the river and banks. Particularly the fish wealth gets depleated as it adversly affect their breeding process.FINDINGS
Sandmining causes slow death of the rivers, hence it act as slow poison.
Removal of sand had resulted in lowering or sinking of the river beds.
Lowering of the river bed level reduces flow from upstream and cause reverse flow
. Sand is the one which holds water
and fills the nearby ponds and lakes by rising the water table. Indiscriminate sandmining had weakened many bridges, buildings and water tanks.
CONCLUSION
Sandmining is the practice that is becoming an ecological problem as the demand for the sand increases in industry and construction. Sand is mined from all the available resources such as river basin, beaches, ocean beds etc. This constant sandmining causes the decrease in the water table and hence the death of the river.

cancer and it's classification

CANCER AND IT'S CLASSIFICATION
INTRODUCTIONCancer is a disease charised by excessive and rapid growth of the cells in a living organism. It can be seen at any tissue. There are two types of cancers , they are Benign and Malignant. Malignant cancers invade spread and ultimately destroy the surrounding tissue. In addition to this cancerous cells are carried to the whole body through blood stream and lymphatic vessel.
Benign tumors are non-cancerous, slow growing, encapsulated and non-metastatized which is specialized to particular part of the body.

cancer cell
CLASSIFICATION OF CANCEROUS TUMORS
Most of the cancer deaths are occured due to the malignacies of lungs, breast or colon. There are 100 types of cancers each having it's own symptoms and it's own special type s of therapy.Hence all these cancers are divided into three broad groups on the basis of histogenesis, that is, by identifying the particular type of tissue from which the tumor cell arise.
The major types are carcinomas, sarcomas, and mixed tissue tumors.
CARCINOMASCarcinomas are the largest group, they are solid tumors that are derived from epithelial tissue which lines the external nad internal surfaces of the body, and reproductive organs. There are two types of carcinomas namely, adenoma and adenocarcinoma. Adenomas are benign while adenocarcinomas are malignant.

SARCOMASSarcomas are not common as carcinomas, and are derived from connective tissue in the body, such asbone, fat, muscles, bone marrow, cartilage, and cells of the lymphatic system.
Benign tumors of connective tissue are named by adding oma -a suffix. for eg: tumors of bone is called osteoma.
In addition to the solid tumors of connective tissue origin, sarcomas arises from blood forming tissues also.Leukemias are tumors derived from bone marrow;whereas lymphomas from immune cells.
MIXED TISSUE TUMORSMixed tissue tumors are derived from tissue that is capable of differentiating into both epithelial and connective tissue. These uncommon tumors are thus composed of several different types of cells;which can be seen in kidney, ovaries and testes.
Wilms tumor of kidney and Teratoma of ovaries nad testes are some examples of it.
